Currence iDEAL B.V. (hereinafter Currence) is the product and brand owner of iDEAL | Wero and sets rules for the use of iDEAL | Wero. Currence monitors compliance with iDEAL | Wero rules. It is important here that Currence has an independent role and ensures a level playing field for all parties that (wish to) play a role in iDEAL | Wero payments. iDEAL | Wero partners (Acquirers, Issuers, CPSPs and C2C providers) must be certified by and enter into a licence, certificate or accreditation agreement with Currence.

iDEAL | Wero is the most widely used online payment method for Dutch consumers! It is a guaranteed, pre-filled transfer from a buyer's IBAN to the beneficiary's IBAN.

What is an iDEAL | Wero Partner?

An iDEAL | Wero Partner is a Payment Service Provider that facilitates iDEAL | Wero to its customers. An iDEAL | Wero Partner can be certified by Currence for the following roles:

- Issuer - they offer iDEAL | Wero as a payment method to your customers. so their customers can pay with iDEAL | Wero;
- Acquirer / CPSP - they sell iDEAL | Wero to merchants, so that they can offer iDEAL | Wero as a payment method;
- A few Acquirers and CPSPs also offer their merchants the possibility to let their customers pay via an iDEAL QR code. You can find more information about this feature on our web page iDEAL QR Providers;
- C2C Provider - they offer an iDEAL C2C service to consumers. Their C2C service enables a consumer to settle an amount (transferring or receiving money) with another consumer.

What requirements must our organization comply with to become an iDEAL | Wero Partner?

Your organization qualifies if you are a licenced Payment Service Provider listed in the register of the relevant Europen regulator(s) that is maintained by order of the government (e.g. The Dutch Central Bank). In addition, your organization must meet the admission requirements Currence has set for each role (Issuer, Acquirer, CPSP, or C2C Provider) your organization wishes to fulfill.

We are a foreign Payment Service Provider, can we also become an iDEAL | Wero Partner?

iDEAL | Wero is open to all licensed Payment Service Providers listed in the register of the relevant European regulator(s) that is maintained by order of the government (e.g., the Dutch Central Bank) and your licence must have been passported to the Netherlands. This means that your organisation is also able to obtain a licence or a certificate agreement, if you meet these requirements.

What must our organisation meet to become an iDEAL partner (Issuer, Acquirer, CPSP or C2C provider)?

Your institution is eligible if you are registered as a payment service provider in the register of a European regulator (e.g. De Nederlandsche Bank; DNB). In addition, your organisation must meet the eligibility requirements set by Currence for the role (Issuer, Acquirer, CPSP or C2C provider) your institution wishes to fulfil.
