iDEAL is shifting. Not with a loud announcement, but gradually. Over the coming period, iDEAL will evolve into Wero: a new European way to pay that brings together trusted national payment systems in one secure, bank-based environment.

To make sure this doesn’t feel like a sudden break, we’re taking it step by step. At first, you’ll see iDEAL and Wero side by side. Co-branding, in other words. Familiar, with a new name added. That way, the change is clear without feeling unsettling for consumers or merchants.

You may have already noticed: a nationwide campaign is now running across the Netherlands, both online and offline. Its purpose is straightforward. To explain what’s changing and, more importantly, what that means for you in everyday use.

And no, you don’t need to relearn anything. iDEAL will continue to work exactly as you expect. It’s simply becoming part of a wider European network, bit by bit. More countries, the same trusted way to pay.
